Boots No7 Review

BootsI recently had the opportunity to try Boots No.7 Protect and Perfect Advanced Serum. The sample size allowed me to use it twice per day for one full week. While I don’t think this was long enough for me to give you a really good idea about the results, I will tell you that the product goes on smooth and non-greasy, it’s not sticky and heavy, and it didn’t make my sensitive, acne-prone skin break out (which is a pretty big deal). Most anti-aging products are too heavy for mBoots No7y sensitive, breakout prone skin, so it’s always nice to try something aimed at reducing the signs of aging that doesn’t cause a flare up. So many products are geared towards either-or — either aging OR acne-prone. While this product does not make claims to help with acne, it certainly didn’t clog my pores or irritate my skin.

The results are supposed to be visible within 2 weeks and again, I didn’t have enough to try it for that long. There is, however, this great video of several women that sampled the product for two weeks and there truly are visible results. The catch with the video is that the women had to go mirror free for the duration of the two weeks! It’s pretty fun to watch!

Until Next Time,
Meg

#FrostyVoxBox – Rimmel London Products Review

2015/01/img_3102.jpg

Me, wearing my Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Black

I love makeup and beauty products and I love tying all the newest trends. I prefer work appropriate as well as age appropriate, so I’m not a fan of the bright colored cat eye and some of the other runway trends just don’t work on me. My typical makeup style for work is pretty natural with champagne colored eye shadow, a light dusting of blush and highlighter, black mascara and lip gloss or lipstick.  I don’t wear eyeliner daily, but I do like to throw it into the routine once or twice a week.

#Rimmel

Here I am with my glasses and the Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Black

I recently was given a Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in Black. Now, as I’m sure most of you do, I have a favorite eyeliner already (Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil) and it is tough to compete with a favorite. That being said, the Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliner went on incredibly smooth and stayed on. All day. Without smudging. On top of that, the price point for Rimmel Scandaleyes is only around $4 at Walmart compared to the $20 tag on the Urban Decay. It is definitely a worthy opponent and if you’re looking to save money on your beauty routine, I would highly recommend this Rimmel product. I have worn it several times, both with my glasses and without and each time I have been impressed with its staying power.

Speaking of the staying power, even after washing my face, it still lingered. Enter in: Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. Like most eye makeup removers, this one is safe to use with contact lenses. It does not irritate my eyes at all and is very effective at removing every last trace of makeup. And again, at around $8, it is a great beauty bargain.

#FrostyVoxBox From Influenster

As you have seen from some of my recent product review posts, I received a VoxBox from Influenster.  Now, if you’ve never heard of Influenster before, it is a lovely community of social influencers sharing information and recommendations about products. On the Influenster website their definition is below:

Influenster is a community of tastemakers, social media hotshots, and educated consumers who live to give opinions of products and experiences. In Influenster Nation, influence is currency.

Throughout my time as a member of Influenster Nation, I have received several VoxBoxes and have not once been disappointed. This box is themed #FrostyVoxBox and contained a mix of items ranging from makeup and beauty to food and drink items.

I did a video review of the products too. You can see it here.

#FrostyVoxBox – Celestial Tea Review

A#CelestialTea Candy Cane Lanenyone who knows me knows that I like a warm/hot drink, especially this time of year. I love hot chocolate, coffee, cider, and tea. I’m especially a fan of green tea. So when I had the chance to review this Celestial Seasons Green Tea in Candy Cane Lane that I received from Influenster, I was ecstatic!
#CelestialTea Candy Cane Lane

This tea is a blend of peppermint, cinnamon, and vanilla. What I liked best about it is that the flavors are all so subtle and not bitter or in-your-face-make-your-eyes-water. Even my kids liked the flavor and typically, they are not fans of anything minty. Another perk, I had a cup on one of the coldest nights of the year and it made me feel so warm! Plus, it is a great holiday blend. I will definitely be purchasing more of this!
